Jeff Taboloff has been playing the saxophone since the age of 10. Raised in a musical home, Jeff Taboloff found an immediate love for the language of music. He started playing piano at the age of 6 and upon hearing the saxophone knew he had found the medium he could truly speak through. His sound is a pure emotional force and in every way the best of smooth jazz.
He was influenced at a young age by artists such as Richard Elliot, Norman Brown, Grover Washington Jr., Jeff Lorber, Dave Koz, Michael Brecker and Gerald Albright. At the end of middle school, he started studying the passion and intensity that artists such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley had in their developmental years. Jeff’s musical “mentors” lead to his increasing study and focus in developing a truly emotional and unique style for performing.
Jeff attended the acclaimed Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. He worked diligently on perfecting his style of emotive playing that translates unbridled emotion to the audience.
Jeff has also attended DVC in Concord, The Jazz School in Berkley and Pyramind Sound Institute in San Francisco. From his schooling he became well versed in many aspects of composition, recording techniques, sound design and mixing. He is a certified professional of many recording studio interfaces, including Pro Tools, Reason and Logic. Jeff has since been performing throughout the United States showcasing his style and giving a truly unique voice of smooth jazz to his audiences.
